The 2020 real estate market got a hot start in Chicago with a major uptick in sales activity just following the holiday celebrations. An excellent sign for a year in which many analysts seem to be holding their breath to see what happens.
This also comes right on the heels of an interesting panel discussion at Compass where several top agents revealed just how short the "Winter Market" really can be in their eyes (Think 2 months, mid November to mid January).
So, what does this mean for those presently sitting on the sidelines waiting for the Spring Market? Historically low interest rates are fueling demand, and if you wait too long, you could actually miss some very good opportunities to buy or sell in the winter months.
Just like stocks, you cannot time the real estate market, but you can prepare for it and put yourself in the best possible position to reach your goals.
Even though it's January, this is the time to get the wheels in motion whether it's loan pre-approval or
Compass Concierge to prepare your home for sale.
If you have questions about the market or any of the exclusive buyer and seller programs offered by Compass let's talk! Until then
